How to take Viagra

Viagra comes in 50 mg and 100 mg tablets. The normal recommended startup dose is one 50 mg pill 15 to 45 minutes before engaging in sexual activity. You should know that Viagra does not work without sexual stimulation. You must be aroused in order for it to take affect. After stimulation is over your erection will go away.

While taking Viagra you should not drink alcohol. Alcohol can impair a man's ability to achieve erections. Also, do not take Viagra along with meals high in fat content. Fatty foods can slow down the effectiveness of Viagra.

Viagra precautions

DO NOT take Viagra with drugs containing nitrates. Nitrate medications are used to treat chest pains in heart patients. If you have uncontrolled blood pressure you should not take Viagra.

Your doctor should know about any medications you are taking, especially if you are using alpha-blockers or blood pressure medicine. If you suffer from heart problems or if you've had congestive heart failure discuss with your doctor about the potential risks involved with taking Viagra.

Viagra side effects

The most commonly experienced side effects of Viagra are headache, upset stomach, and facial flushing. Less common side effects of Viagra include bluish vision, blurred vision, or sensitivity to light. These side effects are temporary and only last a few hours. If you experience nausea or an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours, stop taking Viagra and seek medical help.
